When our brewers were experimenting with variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in fermenter number seven. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a big surge of fruity aromatics and grapefruit-hoppy notes, the flavor of this complex, straw-colored ale tapers off to a peppery, dry finish.

Kellerbier is our interpretation of the unprocessed rustic lagers brewed by farmers and small country breweries in Franconia in northern Bavaria, where it is also called Landbier. This unfiltered Franconian-style lager is dry and crisp with malt flavors of honey and cereal grains, slight toasted malt character and moderate bitterness. Brewed with all-imported German Pilsner and Munich malts, and Hallertau Mittelfrüh hops grown on the 600-year-old Seitz Farm in Bavaria. Kellerbier is naturally carbonated by CO2 produced by lager yeast from Andechs, a Bavarian monastery, during weeks of cold conditioning/lagering in our cellar.
